FIFL Experience: Drafted 4th overall in the first round of the 2026 FIFL Draft by the Reno Express. Traded in week 9 of the 2031 FIFL season by Grand Rapids along with a 5th and 6th round pick to Portland for CB Shattle Fenteng and a 2nd and 3rd pick in 2032.
Professional Experience: Dowling was drafted in the 2nd round (33rd overall) by the New England Patriots in the 2011 NFL Draft. Played and started in 2 games in 2011 for the Patriots, recording 2 solo and 1 assisted tackles. In 2012 for New England, appearead in 7 games recording 5 solo and 2 assisted tackles, a PBU and TFL. With New England in 2013 and releaed. Signed but released by the New York Jets in August of 2014 during training camp. Last NFL appearence in 2014 for the Oakland Raiders, appearing in 3 games and had one solo tackle. With the Carolina Panthers organization in 2015, but no playing time.
College: Dowling played 4 years at Virginia, totalling 160 total tackles (115 UT, 45 AT), 7.5 TFL, 1.0 sacks, and 8 interceptions for 87 yards. Dealt with injuries his senior year. Dowling excelled as a standout player under London’s tutelage at UVA where he garnered All-America honors in 2010 and earned All-ACC accolades three times. Additionally, he served as a team captain and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
Personal: Ras-l Lewis Dowling, born 5-9-88 in Chesapeake, Virginia. Attended Hargrave Military Academy (VA) and Deep Creek Highschool (VA). Ras-I Dowling is an assistant at William & Mary in and coached the secondary in 2019 after working with the cornerbacks the previous year. Dowling joined London at W&M after serving on his staff at Howard the previous two seasons. After working as a defensive quality control coach on HU’s 2017 squad that posted a 7-4 overall record and a 6-2 mark in league play, Dowling was promoted to cornerbacks coach in 2018.
