FIFL Experience: Fuentes had a checkered
career from 1999-2009, where he played for seven different
teams. Was signed late in the 2004 season by the Madison Mad
Dogs where he was given the opportunity to start, and lead
the Mad Dogs to FIFL Bowl VI. Fuentes broke all FIFL playoff
records at the time, when he was 84 for 123 (68.3%) with 981
yards and 6 touchdowns. Holds the record with 9 others for
most TD's in a season in the playoffs with 6. Named Offensive
Player of the game twice in 2002 with Green Bay. Earned Offensive
Player of the Week award in week 15 and 16 of 2004 playoffs.
For his career, Fuentes is 25-28 as a regular season starter
and 3-2 in playoffs, has earned Offensive Player of the Game
12 times and was named to the 2005 AFC All-Pro Team.
Professional Experience: Played for
the Casper Cavalry (IFL) in 2000, where he was 202 of 347
for 2,168 yards with 32 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Split
time in 2001 with the Wichita Stealth (af2) and Wyoming Cavlary
(NIFL). For Wichita, Fuentes was 12 of 25 for 152 yards with
a touchdown and an interception. In Wyoming, Fuentes was 38
of 73 for 656 yards with 18 touchdowns, 3 interceptions. Returned
to football in 2004 with the Sioux Falls Storm (NIFL) and
was 79 of 124 for 939 yards, 19 touchdowns and 4 interceptions
before his season was cut short due to injury.
College: Played for New Mexico-Highlands,
setting several passing records. While attending college,
Fuentes was 2nd Team All Conference; he was named the Student
Athlete of the Year, and was 10th in the Nation in passing
efficiency.
Personal: Has a brother, Jose Fuentes,
who played quarterback at Utah State.
