PROFILE:

FIFL Experience: Holds a 62-55 career record as a starter. Named Offensive Player of the Game 18 times in his career, 11 with Mobile, 3 times with Wichita, 3 with Louisiana and once with Connecticut. Named Offensive Player of the Week eight times. Holds the unflattering record for most interceptions in a career (59) and fumbles (64). Tied for the most interceptions in a season with 11, set in 1999.

Professional Experience: Drafted in 1996 by the Detroit Lions and spent time in Lions training camp from 1996-1997. Attended the CFL's Hamilton Tiger Cats camp in 1997 and 1998. Led the Peoria Pirates to the IFL Gold Cup in 1999. Split the 2000 season with Peoria and the Steel Valley Smash (IFL) in 2000. Played in the af2 in 2001 with three different clubs (Pensacola, Carolina and Greensboro). Sat out the 2002 season. Returned to indoor football in 2003 and played for the LaCrosse Night Train (NIFL) and the Lake Charles Landsharks (NIFL). In his career, Johnson is 430-881 for 5,220 yards, 104 touchdowns and has 28 interceptions. Rushing, he is a career 144-673 and has 15 touchdowns.

College: Played for the University of Illinois where he lead the Fighting Illini to a 32-0 Bowl victory over East Carolina. Threw TD pass in final seconds to help Fighting Illini defeat Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1993.

Personal: While playing for the Peoria Pirates in 1999, Johnson lost the IFL Gold Cup to the Green Bay Bombers. In 2000 for Steel Valley, Johnson faced his former team (Peoria) in the Eastern Conference Championship, and lost 55-10.
