PROFILE:

FIFL Experience: Named to the National Conference All-Pro Team in 1999 and 2001. Named Defensive Player of the Game 8 times in his career, and twice named Defensive Player of the Week; week 14 of 1999 amd week 4 of 2001. In 5 career playoff games, Jose has 24 tackles and 2.0 sacks.

Professional Experience: Played for the Peoria Pirates (IFL) in 1999 where he had 21 total tackles, 1.0 sacks and 2 fumble recoveries. Started the 2000 season with Peoria where he had 6 total tackles in two games and finished the season with the Green Bay Bombers (IFL) where he had 58 total tackles, 5.0 sacks, 5 breakups, a fumble recovery and a safety in 8 games. With the Wichita Stealth (af2) in 2001 where he had 5.5 total tackles in 8 games as well as 3.0 sacks.

College: Played three seasons at Fort Hays State University, where he was a three-time All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference selection and an NCAA Division II All-American by two publications.

Personal: Salcido played a season at Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College.
