FIFL Experience: Drafted in the first
round (#2 overall) in the 2005 FIFL Draft by the Fort Wayne
Safari. Lead all rookies in tackles as he finished the 2005
season with 82 total tackles.
Professional Experience: Played in four
games in 2004 before suffering a season-ending knee injury
at New York on 3/7/2004. Earned Defensive Player and Rookie
of the Year honors in first season with the San Jose SaberCats,
helping the SaberCats to a 2002 Arena Bowl ring...A college
teammate of Oakland Raiders' 2001 first-round draft pick Derrick
Gibson at FSU...Signed as a free agent on December 18, 2001...
Named Defensive Player of the Year in 2003.
College Experience: A four-year letterwinner
at Florida State University...Emerged as a starter in FSU
defensive backfield during the 1999 season and recorded 16
tackles and three interceptions, second-most on the team...Started
against Virginia Tech in the 2000 Sugar Bowl and posted 5
tackles in FSU's 46-29 victory over the Hoakies in the National
Championship game...Started all 13 games his senior season,
including the 2001 Orange Bowl National Championship game,
and was named second-team All-ACC...Tallied 41 tackles, 9
pass breakups and a pair of interceptions...Played in all
13 games as a sophomore contributing 10 tackles and a pass
breakup...Saw action in 8 games as a true freshman...Chose
to attend FSU over Miami, Clemson and Florida.
