Week 10

Dayton trades QB John Fourcade to Lincoln for QB Willie Totten and a 1st round draft pick.
Details coming soon.

Dayton trades WR Craig Yeast, DL Onterio Ford, a 1st, 3rd and 6th round draft pick to Mobile for WR Tate Randle, C Richard McCleskey, DL Don Johnson and LB Justin Haberman.
Details coming soon.

Mobile trades LB Robert Mayer and LB Justin Gerth to Fargo for CB Rod Brown, a 2nd, 4th, and 5th round pick in 2006 and a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round pick in 2007.
Fargo gives up a huge amount of draft picks for 2 starting LB's. Mayer and Gerth better show some promise this season or next or the Fargo fans will rip the management apart. LB Mayer is the prime pickup in this list as he has 55 tackles and 5.0 sacks, and had 74 tackles and 5.0 sacks last season. LB Gerth has struggled as he has 17 tackles and no sacks so far this year, and his best season came in 2003 with Fort Wayne when he had 49 tackles and 2.0 sacks before going on IR. For his career, Gerth has played for 4 teams and has 163 tackles and only 4.0 sacks.

Fort Wayne trades DT Eric Drakes and CB Paul Franklin to Mobile for QB Tim Lester and WR Bernard Holmes.
Two teams rebuilding look to strengthen opposite ends. Fort Wayne gets a very good QB in Lester and a possible starting WR in 2007 in Holmes, while Mobile gets two excellent defensive prospects.QB Tim Lester has struggled a bit this season, but has thrown for 39 touchdowns over the past two seasons and averaged 3,611 yards.
WR Holmes is now with his 3rd team this season. Drakes was 2nd in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting in 2003, a season where he finished with 24 tackles and 10.0 sacks... since then, he has totaled 29 tackles and 7.0 sacks in 23 games. CB Franklin returns to Mobile where he was for 14 games in 2004, and 2 in 2005.

Week 9

Fort Wayne trades WR Cedric Cummings and DE Maxie Graham to Honolulu for WR JoJo Heath and a 3rd round pick in 2007.
Honolulu gets a veteran receiver in Cummings who has 516 receptions and 6,098 yards in his career and a young DE in Graham, for WR Jo Jo Heath and a 3rd round pick in 2007. Graham is young and has talent, and suprisingly only has 3 tackles in his career (2002-03 Mobile, 2003-05 Fort Wayne). Heath should find some starting time in Fort Wayne, and was used very little with Honolulu in 2004 after having 16 catches for 306 yards (19.1) and 3 TD's in 2003. The 3rd round pick in 2007 is ok for Fort Wayne, but should have gotten something in return in 2006 instead.

Week 8

Mobile trades HB Craig King to Fargo for WR Bernard Holmes
Mobile adds more youth to team while Fargo could have a new starting FB.

Louisiana trades QB Josh Wallwork, WR Anthony Payton, OL Scott Hough, OL Tony Altman, K Mike Moser DE Thomas Marshall, and LB Troy Asbell to Dayton for QB Brian Tomalek, OL John Verdegan, OL Sam Maverick, DL Julian Hembrick, LB Messiah Porter, LB Mike Renna and a 5th round pick.
Louisiana does another blockbuster the day after, making this the largest change of personnel through trades. Louisiana now has traded away 14 players in 2 days, as well as 6 picks. Coming to Louisiana is an established core of veteran players. OL John Verdegan excites us the most as he opens up more holes than Swiss cheese. DL Julian Hembrick and LB Messiah Porter should bring great leadership to the defense. For Dayton, perhaps a change of style is necessary as they are 4-3 on the year, however offensively they have been lighting it up against their opponents, as they are averaging 26.3 points per game. GM's looking for a QB? Looks like Wallwork is getting the nod over QB John Fourcade, who has 2 FIFL Bowls and is 4th best in career pass rating. Another spark plug added is the leagues all-time leader in receptions, WR Anthony Payton. Other notables include OL Steve Hough, DE Thomas Marshall, LB Troy Asbell and one of the best kickers ever in K Mike Moser.

Louisiana trades QB Matt Strand, HB Tony Burse, WR Greg Hopkins, DL Sam Hardy, DL Robert Gaines, LB Donovan LaViness, DB Mark Ricks a 2nd, 4th, 6th, 7th & 8th round pick in 2006 and a 5th in 2007 to Mobile for QB Johnny Johnson, RB Lynn Bradford, WR Kenny Causey, K Mike Moser, DL Art Malupe, LB Ansel George, DB Darnell Hasson and a 5th round pick in 2006.
What in the world could I say about this trade other than it being the largest trade ever in the history of the league. Louisiana is giving up the farm again for a chance at the playoffs, and will sacrafice almost all of their 2006 draft to boot. QB Johnny Johnson is now with his 3rd team this season. He was 2-0 as a starter with Mobile, and 2-1 with Wichita earlier this season, and will come in to start for the Beast. His career record is 44-41 as a starter. The Beast also get an able back in Bradford, a speedy receiver in Causey, one of the best kickers in the league in Moser, and starters at DL, LB and DB. For Mobile, youth, youth, youth, and alot of picks. The rookies are quality players, and should help the Seagulls in 2007, if not now.

Fort Wayne trades DE Torrie Griffin to Wichita for a 4th round pick
Wichita gets a young lineman in Griffin who has 88 tackles and 21.0 sacks in his career. Griffin's best season came in 2001 when he had 16 tackles and 8.0 sacks. Fort Wayne gets a descent pick out of the deal.

Mobile trades G Mike O'Donnell, HB Antoine Flowers, 6th round pick (2007) to Springfield for WR Bernard Edwards, G Gabe Dunkman, K Chace Long, a 3rd (2006) and 6th (2006) round draft pick.
Mobile goes for youth as they unload an injured HB Flowers, and veteran lineman O'Donnell. Springfield gives up some talent, but should recover.

Week 7

Wichita trades a 3rd round pick (from POR) to Honolulu for DE Jason White
Wichita has some older defensive lineman, and need to get some youth. Not too expensive of a price, as White was hardly used this season (6 tackles, 1.0 sack). White had a career best 28 tackles and 10.0 sacks last season.

Lincoln trades HB Les Barley to Honolulu for T Derrick Byrd and a 6th round pick
Barley made his first start in week 6, and now we know why - to show off what he can do as he ran 7 times for 47 yards and had 7 catches for 75 yards. Good deal for both teams.

Week 6

St. Louis trades LB Darnell Minnieweather to Portland for a 1st round pick
Portland gets a productive LB in Minneweather at a very high price.

Fort Wayne trades HB Chad Dukes to Mobile for WR Kevin Swayne and a 2nd round pick
With the addition of rookie HB Lincoln Coleman, Fort Wayne trades away HB Chad Dukes. Fort Wayne gets WR Kevin Swayne as well as a #2 pick in next years draft.

Mobile trades TE Eric Jennings and a 6th round draft pick to Wichita for QB Johnny Johnson
Mobile brings back a familuar face as QB Johnny Johnson returns to the Seagulls. The asking price is not too expensive as Wichita receives a 6th round pick and a young Eric Jennings.

Week 5

Honolulu trades DT Asa Francis to Fort Wayne for LB Jeff Faulkner
Honolulu gets LB Faulkner who had 86 tackles and 2.0 sacks in 2004, and should bring some youth to an aging LB core. Fort Wayne gets rookie DT Asa Francis, who should be an excellent building block for defense.

Week 4

Wichita trades HB Anthony Collins to Portland for DT Tony Plantenberg and a 3rd round pick
Portland gets a deal in HB Collins, who could take over for Marquette Smith any time. Wichita does get some defensive help and a 3rd rounder, which might come in handy.

Week 3

Wichita trades LB Matt Hughes to Honolulu for QB Jay McDonagh
Good trade for both teams as in quality. Honolulu has a cast of veteran linebackers now, but atleast they are all good ones. Wichita now has 2 veteran QB's, and looks like Johnny Johnson is on his way out.

Week 2

Fort Wayne trades T Matthew Golenieck and TE Eric Jennings to Mobile for TE Marcus Goodwin and CB Paul Franklin.
Fort Wayne trades away their strongest and one of their youngest offensive linemen and a backup TE for a backup TE and an average defensive back.

Week 1

Honolulu trades CB Michael Hicks to Lincoln for a 4th round draft pick.
Lincoln trades away one of their lower-end Corners for a 4th round pick. On Honolulu, Hicks could be a starter later in year or by 2006.

Mississippi trades T Tim Mangrich to Louisiana for a 1st round draft pick.
Mississippi is flooded with lineman, and trade away one of their best for a 1st round draft pick. The team hopes to make it worth the trade in the next draft. Mangrich for the Bayou Beast will start immediately at Center.

Pre-Camp

Mississippi trades DE Chris Snyder and a 3rd round pick to Lincoln for S Cedric Walker and a 4th.
Mississippi is hurting in the corner department and has youth on defensive line while Lincoln has the opposite problem. Trade should benefit both teams.

Mississippi trades HB Bo Kelly to Louisiana for a 2006 3rd round pick.
HB Bo Kelly could get his chance to start in 2006. He was not looking to get much time with the FireDogs, planted behind HB Damon Benning and HB Omar Bacon.

Lincoln trades WR Doug DeGroot to Fargo for a 2006 3rd round pick.
WR Doug Degroot will finally get his chance to start.

Colorado trades G Bill Leach to St. Louis for a 2006 3rd round pick.
Third-year lineman Bill Leach heads to St. Louis where he looks to be a starter..

Draft

Mississippi trades WR Steve Wofford to Steel Valley for a 2005 5th and 2006 3rd round pick.
Steel Valley gets a great deal on an instant-starter in Wofford. FireDogs will hope to get the most they can out of the draft picks.

Mississippi trades HB Bobby Phillips to Black Hills for FB Bob McMillen and a 2005 5th round pick.
FireDogs and Machine swap quality backs. Equal deal now, but Machine could see long-term benefits.

Mobile trades FB Mike McClenton, and their 5th and 7th round draft pick for FB Bo Wright.
Steel Valley trades away Bo Wright in exchange for the younger FB McClenton and two late round picks.

Pre-Draft

Portland trades their 2004 1st round draft pick to Springfield for their 2005 1st round pick.
Portland trading out of this years draft.

Mississippi trades two 3rd round picks to Lincoln for Lincoln's 1st pick in the 3rd round.
Mississippi give up the 42nd and 49th pick for a 37th pick.

Portland trades all picks (except 1st round) to Steel Valley for a 2005 2nd and 4th round pick.
Portland trading out of this years draft.

Lincoln trades HB Leotis Flowers to Steel Valley for a 2nd and 3rd (Fort Wayne's) draft pick.
Last minute deal for both teams. Flowers had a miserable season in 2004, and Bernard Hall filled in nicely. Deal could benefit Smash if Flowers can turn things around.

Black Hills trades T Stephen Hayes to Madison for a 2006 3rd round draft pick.
Quality trade for both teams. Madison gets an instant starter to fill some holes for the next two years while Black Hills aquires a low-round pick in 2006.

Springfield trades T Mark Valvo to Fort Wayne for a 2nd round and 4th round (MIS) draft pick.
Fort Wayne pays a high price for a lineman, but youth is on his side.

Portland trades a 3rd round draft pick (STL) to Black Hills for DE Pat Sperduto.
Black Hills trades away DE Pat Sperduto for a late 3rd round draft pick. Sperduto had 11 tackles and 6.0 sacks his rookie season, but has not cracked the starting lineup in the past two seasons.

Utah trades OL Derrick Reynolds and DE Nate Fluitt to Mobile for a 1st round draft pick.
Mobile gives up a high draft pick for a veteran offensive lineman and young, un-proven defensive lineman.

Black Hills trades HB Fred Bishop to Madison for a 2005 and 2006 4th round draft pick.
Madison gets a good deal by trading two mid-round draft picks for the explosive Fred Bishop. Bishop ran 27 times for 193 yards (7.1) with a touchdown in 2004, backing up HB Raphael Cooper.

Utah trades T Bryon Lloyd and C A.J. Styre to Madison for a 2nd and 3rd round draft pick.
The first trade of the 2004 off-season brings two veteran lineman to the MadDogs from Utah. Good deal for both teams, however Rattlers get slight advantage in deal... if not this year, certainly next year when draft picks mature.
